The Lesbian and Gay Family Building Project and Planned Parenthood’s Out for Health Program cordially invite you to join us as we launch a special series of events for Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual/Transgender/Queer parents, families, and aspiring parents.
The first event of the series is an educational and networking session for LGBTQ individuals and couples who would like to start a family or add to their family. The event will take place on Thursday, November 19, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Planned Parenthood’s Sexuality Education Resource Center and Out for Health Program Office, located at 111 East Seneca Street in Ithaca.

This program will provide valuable information, resources, and networking to help aspiring parents understand and utilize the family building information and options that are available to them.

On Sunday, December 6, LGBTQ families are invited to join us for a fun family activity from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church located at 402 North Aurora Street in Ithaca. During this special program, adults and their children of all ages will use mixed-media art to create a “family crest.”

The programs are free but space is limited. Please register early. Light refreshments will be served at both of the programs.

The Lesbian and Gay Family Building Project and Planned Parenthood’s Out for Health Program are co-sponsoring the series. The Lesbian and Gay Family Building Project was established in 2000 and is dedicated to helping LGBTQ people in upstate New York achieve their goals of building and sustaining healthy families (www.PrideAndJoyFamilies.org ).

The Out for Health Program is an LGBT health and wellness project of Planned Parenthood. Through this program, Planned Parenthood provides outreach, education, and information to LGBT people, their health care providers, and the community at large about the importance of inclusive, welcoming, and respectful care for LGBT people (www.outforhealth.org ).
